ARMOR ™ 4 vs. 4+

Here are the main differences between the two models:

  • Connectivity & sensors: The 4+ version supports WiFi + BLE sensors (for indoor positioning, accessory tags) in addition to LTE/NB-IoT, whereas the older 4 model appears limited to LTE Cat M1 / NB2 / GSM and does not list WiFi or BLE.

     

  • Measurement/Control capabilities: The 4+ includes a 5-wire harness (2 power, 2 motor measurements, 1 digital output) by default in its standard features. The 4 model lists those harness features under “Upgrade Features” (implying optional). So 4+ makes advanced I/O standard.

     

  • Voltage range: 4 model: 9-90V DC input. 4+ model: 6-90V DC input — slightly broader on the low end.

     

  • Backup battery & enclosure details: 4+ has a built-in internal battery for backup (200 mAh) and emphasises impact-tested, UV-resistant polymer housing. The 4 model lists a Li-Polymer 190 mAh backup battery and IP67, but seems more basic.

     

  • Dimensions and form factor: The 4 model is smaller (84×50×16.6 mm, weight 95g) vs 4+ (94×53×24 mm) so 4+ is slightly larger/thicker.

     

  • Security & cloud integration: 4+ emphasises modern security (TLS 1.3, AES-256, external penetration testing, OTA updates) and enterprise integration (APIs, data pipeline). The 4 model mentions OTA upgrades but less emphasis on enterprise/big-data control features.

     

  • Use case scale: The 4 model seems aimed at simpler asset tracking (voltage, runtime, GPS) for mobile assets. The 4+ is more of a full “connected asset intelligence” solution with sensor expansion, remote control, geofencing, etc — suitable for larger fleets or more complex assets.

     

  • Standard vs upgrade features: Many of the advanced features are standard in the 4+ (motor measurement, digital output, BLE/WiFi) versus optional upgrades in the 4.
